In August of 1986
born into the world as Daniel Childs in the historic city of Memphis,
TN. With musical influence on the family tree... his dad, Andy Childs being a popular Country artist, and his grandfather, Cecil Blackwood of the world-famous Blackwood Brothers (Gospel) on the other side of the family, there was no question what Childs would grow up passionate about. Daniel Childs gave his life to Christ at the age of nine, and ever since, has been grounded in strong roots. At the age of fifteen, Daniel first felt the call to lead youth in Worship while attending a Worship service lead by Michael Passons (formerly of Avalon) at his home church in Franklin, Tennessee. Shortly after, Daniel, with a band of good friends, began leading Worship for his home youth group and other youth groups and began attempts at getting involved in the Christian music scene. Three years later in 2005, he recorded his first EP which was sold on the road and by way of the internet. The EP contained eight songs and was a presentation of passion born out of nineteen years of songwriting in strong family roots. Now, with all kinds of musical experience under his belt, Childs is determined to bring the world positive music that will impact the lives of young people everywhere. He leads Worship regularly at Northstar Church in Huntsville, Alabama, and when he's not doing that, he's in the Nashville area writing songs and recording tracks for his forthcoming independent record titled "Ocean".. He also travels from time to time with his uncle, Mark Blackwood as a part of the Blackwood Gospel Quartet. The messages in the songs Daniel writes are encouraging, life relating, and reminding of the Savior that gave His life so that we all may truly have life, and have it in abundance. "I don't want my music endeavors to be empty," Daniel has said. "I have a desire to help someone or encourage someone with every song I write and release. Therefore, I see no other path for me than Christian music. At the end of the day, if I brought no glory to myself but only brought glory to God, my life's mission will be complete. That is a goal that is only meetable with help from Above. Daniel Childs is excited to see God work in the lives of young people, and hopes to be a tool in impacting their lives with this music. Daniel is available to be booked for events or concerts in 2009, and is ready to get out on the road and work to make a difference. The new CD, "Ocean", is in production and scheduled for hopeful release in the Summer of 2009. Be on the lookout for tour dates and music! |
